An experimental investigation of response times for duct-mounted relative humidity transmitters Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • This paper reports the response times of six different duct-mounted relative humidity transmitters used in buildingHVAC. Of the six transmitters, three were capacitive and the remaining three were resistive. This paper describes the test hardware used to determine the response times of relative humidity transmitters, along with a detailed description of the test conditions and the experimental test procedure. The experimental test results revealed significant variation in the average response times of relative humidity transmitters, with the fastest average response time being 7 seconds and slowest average response time being 96 seconds. Further, the test results show that capacitive-type transmitters had faster response times compared to resistive-type transmitters. 2007 ASHRAE.
