abstract
Conventional friction brakes suffer severe limitations, including challenging integration with electronic driving aids. The integration of an eddy-current brake with the conventional friction brake was developed to remedy to these shortcomings [1]. The present work analyzes the impact of eddy-current brakes uses in conjunction with conventional friction brakes in both conventional and hybrid automobiles. Copyright 2005 SAE International.
