abstract
Surface analysis and electrochemical characterization of bulk amorphous alloys in aqueous solutions at different pH were discussed. The composition of BeCuNiTiZr amorphous alloys was studied by x-ray photoelectron spectroscopy and optical microscopy. Optical micrographs and CV curves were compared to pinpoint difference in the corrosion resistance of the amorphous multicomponent alloys. Discussions were done on the effect of the presence of elements with widely varying interfacial reactivities, amorphicity, and multicomponent structure in the oxidation process.
