Retchless, David Associate Professor

Positions

I am interested in the cartographic communication of sea level rise and other climate hazards. My work draws on research from GIScience, human-environment geography and psychology to consider how map interaction mediates risk perceptions for climate change and related hazards. My research foci include communicating climate change and coastal hazards, geospatial tool design and evaluation, and geospatial analysis of coastal and marine change. I have expertise in geospatial design, augmented reality, cartography, web mapping, user testing and evaluation, and mobile application development.
