The goal of my research agenda is threefold. First, to explore the link between communication and sport identity development. Second, to develop and disseminate strategies for enhancing writing, communication, and critical thinking skills at the undergraduate and graduate levels. Third, to connect identity research and instructional strategies through a sport lens. Specifically, my research strands focus on sport education and emphasize; (a) the impact of communication on sport identity and fandom, (b) identity development as it relates to sport writing/communication, (c) the need for writing and critical thinking skills in the sport industry, (d) further development and application of a model (The Writing and Critical Thinking Enhancement Framework; WCEF) aimed to increase students' writing and critical thinking skills in all disciplines, but grounded in sport contexts for sport industry application, and (e) strategy and technique creation for WCEF classroom implementation.
