abstract
Some of a variety of commercial emulsifiers were capable of enhancing the sensitivity of mammalian cells in culture to infection with several viruses. Those viruses which were enhanced in their replication were single-stranded RNA viruses whereas the double-stranded viruses tested were non-responders. In addition, some cells lines, as compared to others, responded in a more sensitive manner to the active emulsifiers. 1978.
