abstract
The testing and analysis procedures involved with the designing of magnetic suspensions for flywheel batteries were analyzed. The flywheel module system comprised of wheels and shafts, position sensors, electromagnetic actuators, power amplifiers, and auxillary equipment supports. The module testing stages were based on Component Model Verification Tests, System Model Verification Tests, and Run-up to Full Speed Testings. The discussed techniques were successful in achieving the 60,000 rpm spin of a 11.4 kg flywheel.
