The performance of an Adaptive Cruise Control (ACC) System employing a Constant Time Headway (CTTH) policy is reviewed from three different perspectives - stability, safety and traffic flow behavior. In addition, the primary benefit of ACC systems in terms of relieving congestion is highlighted.
