abstract
The effects of off-design operation on the aerodynamic performance of a high deflection steam turbine blade linear cascade is investigated. The flow incidence on the leading edge of the blades is varied from -15.3 to +21.0 while comprehensive measurements of the resulting flow-fields upstream and downstream of the test section are done. Calculation of the profile loss coefficient follows, with the latter proving to be rather insensitive to flow incidence. The experimental results are found to be in good agreement with the output from an in-house numerical investigation using a commercial CFD package. Copyright 2010 by ISROMAC-13.
