abstract
This research investigates micromilling of wrought and additive manufactured H13 tool steel. Performance of six different coating on microtools in minimum quantity lubrication was studied. The evolution of surface finish was an effective technique to monitor a microtool condition without interrupting the machining operation. A thin 1-2 m coating layer would be ineffective, thus ending the tool life, when a machined surface finish reached three times the theoretical surface finish value.
