Experimental Investigation of Different Tool Geometries when Micromilling H13 Tool Steel Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • The H13 tool steel is popular for making molds and dies that operating at high temperatures. Micromolding is one of the emerging areas for mass production. This work aims to investigate the effect of the geometry of micromilling tools on resulted surface roughness. Three different microtools were selected for this study. The results suggest that the cutting-edge radius and the nose radius has significative influence and, the greater these geometric parameters are for the given cutting conditions, the greater would be the roughness of the machined surface.
