abstract
This case study describes how design thinking was applied in an undergraduate personal leadership course to foster transformative learning in students. Design thinking concepts based on the book Designing Your Life: How to Build a Well-lived, Joyful Life was integrated with existing course assignments in helping students create visions for their future, in thinking about their workview and lifeview, and in prototyping or trying something new that would allow them to experience something they think they might want for their future. Of the 94 students enrolled in the course (a face to face with remote instruction as an option), 48 students consented to research which revealed that students did find the assignments impactful and experienced transformative learning.
