abstract
The results of composite vibrational characteristics as a function of stacking sequences, fiber orientations, and damage effects are being studied to serve as design criteria for the use of composites in structural applications. The vibrational characteristics of composite beams and plates are presented. The fundamental frequencies are obtained as a function of stacking sequence, aspect ratio and boundary conditions. The effects of damage on damping is also investigated.
