abstract
We have performed a fixed-nuclei two-state coupled-channel calculation for the photoionization of N2 leading to the (2u)-1 Bu+2 and (3g)-1 Xg+2 states of N2+, using the Pad-approximant C-functional formalism. We have found quantitative agreement with vibrationally unresolved experimental data for the photoelectron asymmetry parameter. Of particular interest is the good agreement of the asymmetry parameter in the (2u)-1 channel in the photon energy range of 25-35 eV where there are strong channel-coupling effects due to the shape resonance in the (3g)-1 channel. 1986 The American Physical Society.
