abstract
This is a summary of the results collected during the extensive load test program performed by the U.S. Army Engineer District, St. Louis, during the construction of the new Lock and Dam No. 26. This program involved 28 axial load tests on impact driven H piles and pipe piles. Lateral load tests were also performed on two H piles. The soil is sand and gravel. The analysis of the results leads to conclusions on the precision of dynamic and static prediction methods and on the influence on ultimate capacity of pile batter and load test procedures.
