PRESSUREMETER: A PROMISING APPARATUS FOR PAVEMENT DESIGN. Academic Article

abstract

• The author recently designed a pressuremeter specially conceived for pavement engineering. The pressuremeter test consists of placing a cylindrical expandable probe in a 1 in. diameter borehole and inflating the probe. A control unit on the ground surface is used to generate the pressure necessary to inflate the probe.
