abstract
A new principle for electronic noses and other chemical sensor systems, based on resistance noise spectroscopy is presented. It has been demonstrated that even a single sensor can be sufficient to distinguish between a number of different chemical species. Potential advantages of the new technique include a strong reduction of the number of necessary sensors, improved selectivity, and sensitivity.
