Analysis of stability of a class of fuzzy linguistic controllers with internal dynamics Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • In this paper we present an approach to the analysis of stability of Fuzzy Linguistic Control(FLC) systems where the controller itself is a dynamic system. Specifically, we show that the Direct Method of Lyapunov can be used to establish sufficient conditions for global and asymptotic stability of single input single output fuzzy linguistic control systems where the control rules are stated in terms of the process error and its rate of change (or its cumulative sum). The proposed conditions for stability can be viewed intuitively as limits on the effective plant/controller gain. In this connection, we discuss the merits and limitations of the proposd approach, and suggest some future research directions.
