Femtosecond Filamentation Induced Micro and Nano-Restructuring in the Bulk of Dielectrics and Polymers Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Femtosecond laser filaments leave plasma strings at their trail as they propagate through any transparent medium including glasses and polymers. This initial plasma string and the energy deposited from the electrons to the lattice play a fundamental role in the creation of permanent structural modifications in these media. 2011 Copyright Society of Photo-Optical Instrumentation Engineers (SPIE).
