abstract

• This paper presents results of a study dealing with the design of cellular manufacturing systems using mathematical modelling techniques. A background study was performed to select the best factors used for performance analysis. The selected design methodologies are applied to a numerical example and results are evaluated using quantitative measures of performance. The result of this analysis can assist the decision maker in selecting the best method for manufacturing cell design. 1993.
