abstract
This is the report of activities from 2005 to 2009 for the Technical Committee number 33 (TC33) of the International Society for Soil Mechanics and Geotechnical Engineering (ISSMGE) entitled Geotechnics of Soil Erosion. This committee was created in 1997. From 2005 to 2009, TC33 hosted 2 international conferences: in 2006 in Amsterdam and in 2008 in Tokyo. A set of proceedings is available for each conference which are named International Conferences on Scour and Erosion (ICSE) and occur every two years. The 2010 conference (ICSE-5) will be in San Francisco, USA and the 2012 conference (ICSE-6) in Paris, France. The committe met in 2006 in Amsterdam and in 2008 in Tokyo. A series of short courses were also offered during the 2005-2009 period.
