abstract
2014 IEEE. Transcriptome assembly techniques provide a valuable opportunity to learn more about non-model organisms. We present transcriptome assemblies for Pacific whiteleg shrimp (Litopenaeus vannamei), a species of great importance in global mariculture, that lacks solid transcriptome and genome references. We examine the new Pacific whiteleg transcriptome assemblies via multiple metrics, and compare the result with annotated similar species.
