Low-frequency, low-field dielectric spectroscopy of living cell suspensions Academic Article uri icon

abstract

  • For low-frequencies and low-electric field amplitudes, a dielectric spectroscopy technique was developed. The dispersion curves of the dielectric permittivity and conductivity for several living cell suspensions were measured by this method. The method was sufficiently sensitive when the electric field amplitudes were smaller than the linear threshold. It was found that the method was tested on fluids with known dielectric permittivity and was effective at frequencies ranging from 10 to 10 5 Hz.
