abstract
Several new concepts in magnetic design and coil fabrication are being incorporated into designs for ultrahigh field collider magnets: a 16 Tesla block-coil dual dipole, also using Nb3Sn cable, featuring simple pancake coil construction and face-loaded prestress geometry; a 330 T/m block-coil quadrupole; and a ~20 Tesla pipe-geometry dual dipole, using A15 or BSCCO tape. Field design and fabrication issues are discussed for each magnet. 1995 IEEE
