abstract

  • Solutions in tetrahydrofuran of Li2S and Li2S 2 (or chemically equivalent species) are rapidly formed by reaction of elemental sulphur with appropriate stoicheiometries of LiEt3BH; subsequent addition of electrophiles affords sulphide or disulphide derivatives in high yields.
