abstract
Reactions of(R)-[(5-C5H 5)Re(NO)(PPh3)(CH2-PPh2H)] +X-, mild base, and Pd(OAc)2 yield the novel Pd3(OAc)4-based palladacycle (R,R)-( 5-C5H4Re(NO)-(PPh3)(-CH 2PPh2)Pd(-OAc)2Pd(-OAc) 2Pd(-PPh2CH2)-Re(Ph 3P)(ON)(5-C5H4), which has been characterized crystallographically and elaborated to dimeric halide-bridged and monomeric palladacycles that are effective catalyst precursors for the Heck reaction. 2005 American Chemical Society.
