abstract
Pyrene groups coupled to hyperbranched poly(acrylic acid) (PAA) grafts were used to probe solvation within grafts on polyethylene films. The extent of excimer formation, the I 1 /I 3 ratio and the effectiveness of various quenching agents as a function of solvent and pH all served as useful ways to prove solvent-polymer interactions in the hyperbranched grafts on polyethylene.
