• Asymmetric electrophilic synthesis of -hydroxy carboxylic acids from chiral amide derivatives of tert-butyl- and trialkylsilyl- protected glycolic and lactic acids are described which lead to chiral -hydroxy carboxylic acids in 60-95% diastereomic excess. 1986.
