abstract
PDLGA is reinforced with hydroxyapatite and carbon foam for potential use in orthopedic reinforcement devices. Solution mixing and melt casting are described and morphology of the material systems is characterized, where the dispersion of hydroxyapatite in PDLGA and quality of infiltration of carbon foam is investigated. Additionally, cell studies are undertaken to ensure biocompatibility.
