Macnamara, Lawrence Lecturer

Dr. MacNamara specializes in nineteenth and early twentieth century U.S. cultural, intellectual and social history. His book manuscript, Birth Control and the Good Life in America, examines the popular ideas behind the spread of family limitation in the United States. MacNamara's second book will explore Americans' changing ideas about the material and spiritual contents of the sky, beginning in the 1840s and ending in the space age.
