abstract
Protection of humans against infection from animal diseases is best controlled by preventing animal disease. Currently available vaccines against brucellosis are infectious for humans. We propose the construction of vaccine candidates that are efficacious in animals and non-transmissable to humans. The approach includes the use of highly attenauted live attenauted strains in combination with a vaccine platform designed to enhance immunity via prolonged release of the vaccine.
