abstract

  • Here we report the formation of iron in hexavalent state, FeVI O42 - in ozonalysis of iron(III) in alkaline medium. The formation of tetrahedral FeVI O42 - ion is confirmed by UV-Visible and Mssbauer spectroscopic techniques. The value of isomer shift, , of the tetra-oxy anion is consistent with known values for various salts of iron(VI) ion. 2007 Elsevier B.V. All rights reserved.
