abstract
The Scholars@TAMU team at Texas A&M University Libraries has been working on this project since 2015. Our main goal was to enhance the research and academic reputation of TAMU and support the ability of faculty/colleges to craft rich narratives of the significance and impact of their work. Outreach activities to increase campus engagement, assisting faculty, researchers, departments and administration with generating reports based on Scholars@TAMU data provided us with use cases and ideas for data reuse, including the development of an API. These data reuse cases have included a multitude of benefits for the university, including research intelligence, program reviews, promotion and tenure dossiers, and more recently, assisting faculty with completing annual evaluations. However, publicly presenting aggregated data from multiple authoritative sources also has its risks for potential misuse. This presentation will discuss these associated risks and the considerations and precautions put into place by the Scholars@TAMU team to mitigate these risks.
