Adapting to Digital Changes in Health Education: A Case Study Chapter uri icon

abstract

  • A sudden shift to remote teaching occurred in the Health Science Center at Texas A&M University in March 2020 due to the pandemic. Instructors collaborated with instructional designers and technologists to identify tools and strategies for implementing digital learning to empower an effective transition. In this chapter, we present the transition processes for two courses and describe the challenges and strategies used to cope with the digital changes. In addition, we reflect on how digital changes have reshaped our teaching from the perspectives of instructors, instructional designers, and technologists.
