This is a response to Judge Juan R. Snchezs article A Plan of Our Own: The Eastern District of Pennsylvanias Initiative to Increase Jury Diversity. While some of the policy proposals promoted regarding jury selection are likely beneficial, the rationale Snchez provides for their support is rooted in harmful racial stereotypes. Furthermore, the evidence presented is insufficient to support the claims of jury diversity benefits.
