abstract
Pneumonia caused by Rhodococcus equi is often an important problem for horse-breeding farms. Control and prevention programs require a systematic approach encompassing three aspects: treating affected foals, screening to detect early disease in asymptomatic foals, and preventing pneumonia caused by this organism. This article discusses general principles of and specific recommendations for control and prevention of R. egui-induced pneumonia.
