abstract
Treatment of adult female rats with 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD, 1 g and 5 g/kg/week) over a period of 4 weeks resulted in a dose-dependent decrease in the levels of hepatic I-compounds (DNA adducts) as determined by the 32P-postlabeling procedure. In adult male Sprague Dawley rats TCDD did not change the levels of total hepatic I-spots. The significance of these sex-specific effects and other data will be discussed. 1990.
