Effects of 2,3,7,8-TCDD and related compounds on the levels of age-dependent I-spot DNA adducts in the liver of female and male Sprague-Dawley rats Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • Treatment of adult female rats with 2,3,7,8-tetrachlorodibenzo-p-dioxin (TCDD, 1 μg and 5 μg/kg/week) over a period of 4 weeks resulted in a dose-dependent decrease in the levels of hepatic I-compounds (DNA adducts) as determined by the 32P-postlabeling procedure. In adult male Sprague Dawley rats TCDD did not change the levels of total hepatic I-spots. The significance of these sex-specific effects and other data will be discussed. © 1990.
