abstract

  • A study has been made of the flow of granular materials under the action of gravity in a vertical channel, using a continuum model to describe the response of the granular material. The equations governing the flow are solved numerically, under the assumption of both slip and no-slip at the wall, and the results compared with the experimental data of Savage [J. Fluid Mech., 93 (1979) 53]. 1994.
