abstract
Mechanism of flowing granular materials such as coal, sand and metal ores, etc. has received the considerable attention in the recent years, as it has relevance to several important technology problems. The governing equations for the flow of granular materials, have been derived by using a model based on kinetic theory. For a fully developed flow of these materials down an inclined plane, the equations reduce to a system of the coupled non-linear ordinary differential equations. Resulting boundary value problem was solved numerically. The parametric study was carried out to delineate how the various non-dimensional parameters affect the structure of the solution.
