abstract
In this paper, we study the slow motion of a body in an incompressible homogeneous fluid of second grade. We prove that there exists an unique solution to the equations of motion for the fluid of second grade, wherein the inertial terms are ignored. In particular, we show that if no body forces are acting on the fluid and if the velocity is sufficiently small, then the solution coincides with the classical Stokes' solution.
