On an Infinite Dimensional Generalization of the Excess Demand Theorem of David Gale Academic Article

abstract

• Gale (1955) proved the excess demand theorem (known as the Gale-Nikaido-Debreu theorem) by means of the Knaster-Kuratowski-Mazurkiewicz (KKM) lemma. We gen- eralize the excess demand theorem to infinite dimensional spaces by means of the Fan (1961) infinite dimensional extension of the KKM lemma.
