abstract
Finite element analysis of the equations governing the small-deflection elastic behavior of thin plates laminated of anisotropic bimodulus materials (which have different elastic stiffnesses depending upon the sign of the fiber-direction strain) is presented. Single-layer and two-layer cross-ply, simply-supported rectangular plates subjected to sinusoidally distributed normal pressure and uniformly distributed normal pressure are analyzed. For the sinusoidally loaded case, the finite element solutions are gratifyingly close to the exact closed-form solutions. 1980, All rights reserved.
