abstract
To implement the structural application of the recently introduced fiber-governed symmetric compliance model for bimodulus composite materials, both classical closed-form and finite-element solutions are being developed. This paper summarizes the results obtained for deflection of single-layer orthotropic and two-layer, cross-ply plates of the following configurations and loadings: thin elliptic plates clamped on the boundary and subjected to uniform pressure; moderately thick rectangular plate freely supported on the boundary and subjected to a sinusoidally distributed pressure.
