Teaching Simulation With MOR/DS Conference Paper uri icon

abstract

  • The goal in many introductory simulation courses is to focus on the concepts of simulation and minimize the time spent in learning language-specific techniques. The MOR/DS (microcromputer support for operations research and management science-discrete simulation) language has been developed with this goal in mind: to provide a microcomputer environment designed for teaching simulation. A discussion is presented as to its use as a teaching tool for simulation and as an introduction to languages that students will most likely use after leaving school.
