abstract
Although it has been studied extensively for additive white Gaussian noise and flat fading channels, the problem of continuous-mode frame synchronization over frequency-selective channels has received much less attention. In this paper, based on the maximum likelihood criterion, we derive a computationally efficient continuous-mode algorithm for joint frame synchronization, channel and frequency offset estimation for linear modulations transmitted through unknown frequency-selective channels affected by carrier-frequency offset. Computer simulations show that the proposed algorithms exhibit low implementation complexity and good performance.
