abstract
Write-efficient memories (WEM) [1] were introduced by Ahswede and Zhang as a model for storing and updating information on a rewritable medium with constraints. A coding scheme for WEM using recently proposed polar codes is presented. The coding scheme achieves rewriting capacity, and the rewriting and decoding operation can be done in time O(N logN), where N is the length of the codeword. 2013 IEEE.
