abstract

  • The aim of this study was to investigate the antioxidant property of two 4 amino, 5 mercapto, 3 substituted, 1, 2, 4 triazole derivatives and also to determine their lethal doses of the same compounds. Methods: In vitro antioxidant activities were analyzed by DPPH and Reducing power assay. Both the compounds were tested for its acute toxicity. In vivo antioxidant properties of the compounds were analyzed by estimating the antioxidant status in triazole treated Swiss albino mice. Results: Both the compounds showed radical scavenging and reducing property. The toxicity study reports showed that both the compounds have no toxic effect up to 1600mg/kg body weight for oral administration. These compounds were also screened for its in vivo antioxidant property and both the compounds had shown an improved result in agreement to the previous studies. Conclusion: The present study showed that the triazole derivatives are nontoxic as well as they possess notable antioxidant property.
