abstract

  • Second virial coefficients, B(T), are determined from the density measurements of Wallace and Meyer for 3He (3.044-3.305 K) and for mixtures of 3He + 4He with x4 = 0.2, 0.4, 0.6 and 0.8 (3.55-5.00 K). Interaction virial coefficients B34 are then found using also literature values of B44. Empirical equations valid below 5 K are provided for B33, B44 and B34. The use of particular intermolecular models, including the proper quantum corrections, is examined for a wide temperature range. Specifically, values generated by the Lennard-Jones and Exp-6 models are compared with experiment. 1987.
