abstract
PURPOSE: An ultra thin type optical scanning device for a portable information appliance is provided to scan a large area with small capacity light emitting device by minimizing light loss of the light emitting device. CONSTITUTION: A light emitting device(10) generates light to detect an object. An object surface(40) reflects light of the light emitting device by being touched with the object. An imaging unit focuses the light from the object surface and transfers the focused light. A photo diode(80) forms an image using the transferred light. A re-reflecting surface(60) reflects the light from the object surface to the imaging unit. A collimating lens(20) condenses light from the light emitting unit and projects the condensed light in parallel with optical axis.
