abstract
In the dynamics and control laboratory at Texas A&M University, a testbed for attitude sensing based on image processing and star-pattern identification has been developed. The facility is designed to yield medium-accuracy (less than 5 arcsec) frame-based minimum-variance batch attitude estimates of a solid-state imager in near-real time. This will be useful both as a testbed for the related image-processing and pattern-recognition algorithms and for future structural control experiments.
